Hi there!
My friends call me Joannie, and I’m a Catholic speaker, writer, podcaster, and blogger who loves introducing people to the things I love. At times it might feel like living the Christian life is hard and complex. But while some days it may be tough, it’s not complicated. I’d like to come along on the pilgrimage of life with you—let’s keep walking and help each other become saints.
Speaking
Joan has spoken in front of audiences as diverse as college students to members of the Roman curia. She’s a person in the pew, just like you, so her favorite audiences are sinners who are trying to be saints, just like she is.
Writing
In a sense, Joan has been writing since she was three years old and her family made her make up songs on car trips just so she would stop asking questions. She’d like to hope she writes more profound things now.
Who I Am
I’m a cradle Catholic who loves bourbon, playing trivia, and the color orange. All I want to do is help others encounter Christ and enter into friendship with Him through the daily circumstances of life. (And win trivia.)
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
What I Do
I’m a Catholic speaker and writer who loves to make Scripture, theology, liturgy, and history accessible and applicable. With degrees from Christendom College and Franciscan University of Steubenville, I have worked for the Church and various religious apostolates for almost fifteen years. Now, propelled by Luke 12:48, I speak for a wide variety of audiences; I write blog posts and bible studies; I co-host podcasts and produce videos… I use every means available to help people find holiness in their everyday lives.
What I Believe
Saints are made in Ordinary Time. We are all called to be holy – but this usually doesn’t look dramatic or complicated. It looks like being faithful on Monday mornings, loving Jesus and our neighbor (especially the one that drives us crazy), and constantly being open to the surprises of the Holy Spirit.
